Dr. Kanner moved from Canada to the US for University, then completed his MD and PhD degrees in New York City at Weill/Cornell and Rockefeller University.  His internship was at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven CT, and residency at the Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University.  He moved to Memphis for his Glaucoma Fellowship with Dr. Peter Netland, and stayed on as Faculty since then.
