Mohamed M I Moustafa

I'm an accomplished pharmaceutics scientist with over 22 years experience in formulation of different pharmaceutical dosage forms, drug delivery systems, drug nano-carrier and ocular sustained release topical drug delivery systems. I received MSc in pharmaceutics from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, Egypt, and received my PhD in pharmaceutics from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, Egypt through a joint supervision program with Hamilton Eye Institute, College of Medicine, University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Also, I received postdoctoral training for 4 years from Dr. Jablonski lab, Hamilton Eye Institute, University of Tennessee Health Science Center. I'm a recognized expert on formulation of ocular drug delivery systems. I has authored eleven peer-reviewed publications and two international Conference proceeding publications on formulation of different drug delivery systems.
I have broad training and experience in preparation evaluation of different pharmaceutical dosage forms and nano-drug delivery systems for ocular use. The nano-drug delivery systems include; nanoparticles, nanofibers, bilosomes, transfersomes and microemulsions. In my research, my focus is formulating drug delivery systems for the treatment of ocular diseases associated with the loss of human vision (such as glaucoma) to help people to retain good vision during their whole life span. For the past eleven years, the major focus of my research was working in preparation and characterization of long acting topical ophthalmic formulations that achieve targeted drug delivery for both anterior and posterior eye compartments.
