Angela Snyder, DNP, PPCNP-BC, CHPPN has served as a pediatric palliative care nurse practitioner at St. Jude Children's Research hospital since 2007. She has been an NP since 2000, initially working as a nurse practitioner in the division of bone marrow transplant at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. During that time she discovered her desire to minimize suffering of patients and families during times of severe illness and dedicated her studies to pediatric palliative care.
She has been instrumental in developing the clinical practice of palliative care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and has traveled teaching of her experiences. She strives to make everyday the best day possible to those patients and families that she serves.
She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1990. After practicing for 10 years as a registered nurse in pediatric oncology she obtained her Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. In 2016, she attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and received her Doctorate of nursing practice focusing on compassion fatigue.
Today she continues to uphold the mission of St. Jude to "advance cures and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment by providing palliative care throughout the disease trajectory of patients going through bone marrow transplant.
