Sophia Mosher, MPA, CHSE
Sophia Mosher has served as Simulation Educationalist at the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation (CHIPS) since 2022. With a passion for innovative education and a background in curriculum development and project management, Sophia collaborates with faculty to design and deliver impactful simulation-based learning experiences. Joining CHIPS in 2019, Sophia honed her strategic planning and organizational skills as a Simulation Logistician, overseeing the seamless execution of all simulation events in CHIPS. Her background as a high school educator in English, Theater, and Speech equipped her with strong communication skills and valuable skills in curriculum development and mapping, while her work coordinating the Office of Equity and Diversity’s strategic programs resulted in a deep understanding of the complexities of creating equitable and inclusive spaces.
Sophia is an active member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and the Association for SP Educators (ASPE), regularly sharing her insights at their international conferences and serving as a SSH Accreditation Site Reviewer. Sophia is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, demonstrating her commitment to excellence in simulation education.
A Michigan native and proud alumna of Michigan State University's James Madison College, Sophia holds a BA in Comparative Cultures and Politics. She continued her education at the University of Memphis, earning a Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.
As Simulation Educationalist, Sophia is committed to fostering a psychologically safe learning environment for all simulation participants. She leverages her expertise in manikin and procedural simulation to guide faculty through the entire simulation lifecycle, from initial concept to post-simulation debriefing and evaluation. As a trained debriefer through the Debriefing Academy, Sophia is skilled in facilitating meaningful learning through reflective debriefing.
