CHIPS Professional Development: Adapting the SP Methodology along a Human Simulation Continuum
This session will introduce the Human Simulation Continuum Model (HSCM) which provides a theoretical framework in which educators may practically contextualize their development and training process. It also offers a common language to approach training across the human simulation profession. In this session they explore the full spectrum of roles within the Human Simulation modality, address how we frame these roles, and practice using the HSCM with scenarios.

CHIPS Professional Development - Healthcare Simulation Code of Ethics: What's In It For Me?
Professional codes of ethics are important milestones in the development of any profession. This workshop will first connect historical perspective (and debunk at least one myth) to the creation of the Healthcare Simulationist Code of Ethics. Then, everyone in attendance will help bring the Code to life by grappling with case studies and exploring how the Code can guide and leverage our healthcare simulation practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share and discuss their own challenges and successes, and to consider a vision for future advances in ethical healthcare simulation practice.

CHIPS Professional Development - Leveraging Everyday Curriculum and Assessment to Drive Programs of Educational Research for Health Professionals
Dr. Yoon Soo Park is Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and the inaugural Director of Health Professions Education Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital. His research agendas have focused on assessment methods in health professions education, advancing the preparation of learners in clinical reasoning and measurement of competencies through validity studies. Park served as Chair, Research in Medical Education for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and was immediate-past Vice President for the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Dr. Park discusses how everyday educational activities can be leveraged to design and implement educational research by faculty in health professions. He offers examples from simulation and observational assessments which are commonly used across health professions.
