Updated CHIPS Module 1: Introduction to Simulation-Based Education

The Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation has created a series of modules to serve as simulation professional development opportunities.

In Module 1, "Introduction to Simulation-Based Education,"  the participant will complete module activities that detail the foundational knowledge of simulation best practices. Both the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice and the Association for SP Educators (ASPE) Standards of Best Practice will be discussed. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • define simulation-based education.

  • describe various simulation modalities available at CHIPS.

  • identify the CHIPS teams who collaborate in the delivery of high-quality simulation-based education.

  • recognize key policies and procedures essential for developing effective simulation activities.

Please remember that you must complete the Module at 80 percent mastery.

Once the Module is completed you will click "Next" to access the post-module evaluation. This must be completed to earn continuing education credits!

After completing the evaluation survey, the Course Certificate option will appear and the Certificate of Achievement or CEs can be downloaded.
