Corey Hayes, PharmD, PhD, MPH
Dr. Corey Hayes is an investigator with the Center for Mental Healthcare and Outcomes Research (CeMHoR), which is the HSR&D Center of Innovation at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), and Deputy Director of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded Rural Telehealth Evaluation Center. Dr. Hayes is a clinical pharmacist, epidemiologist, and health services researcher. Dr. Hayes’s primary research focus is on using population-level claims and electronic health record data and advanced quantitative methods to improve prevention and treatment of substance use disorders. His work focuses on improving policies related to opioid prescribing and developing technology-based interventions for improving treatment of patients with opioid use disorder.
Dr. Hayes received his PharmD and MPH from UAMS in 2013 and practiced for 3 years as a clinical pharmacist at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. From 2016-2018, Dr. Hayes completed a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)-funded T32 Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Translational Addiction Research and completed his PhD in 2018 in Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy with an emphasis in pharmacoepidemiology.
