Dr. Samantha Calhoun is a healthcare leader who serves as a registered nurse (RN) and clinical assistant professor at The University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing. With over a decade of clinical experience in cardiovascular and academic nursing, Dr. Calhoun leverages her clinical practice and higher education expertise to develop a skilled, empathetic nursing workforce. Dr. Calhoun’s research focuses on shared decision-making among Black men with hypertension. As a community-focused leader,  she advocates for improving healthcare experiences for vulnerable populations at risk for cardiovascular health disparities. Dr. Calhoun’s vision is to support healthcare clinicians with the tools necessary to connect meaningfully with their patients through building therapeutic patient-clinical relationships.
