Laura Taylor Reed, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Dr. Reed is an Assistant Professor and FNP Concentration Coordinator in the UTHSC College of Nursing. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center (BSN, 1986 and MSN, 1990) and earned her DNP from the University of Alabama (2014). She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (1990) and has practiced in a wide variety of primary care settings including end-stage renal disease, transplantation, and internal medicine. She currently practices in a family practice clinic in Memphis, TN. Dr. Reed’s area of interest include the primary prevention and treatment of chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia in the underserved population.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), and Greater Memphis Area Advanced Practice Nurses association (GMAAPN) where she is currently serving as president. Dr. Reed is also a member of the Tennessee Nurses Association and currently is serving as the Practice Director on the TNA Board of Directors.
