William (Billy) Boywid earned his BA in Music from Rudi E. Scheidt College of Music in 2006 and his MBA  from Fogelman College of Business in 2011, both at the University of Memphis.  He is a wine and spirits wholesaler and educator, and he has worked for what is now Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits (formerly Star Distributors) since 2008.  Over the last two years, he and his business partners have been building his 15-year hobby and passion into a small business, Fruiting Soul Mushroom Farm.

Billy has been happily married to Elizabeth for the last 18 years, and they have two beautiful daughters, Bambi Rose (13) and Dauphine Violetta (7).  Billy entered the healthcare community as a caregiver to Dauphine.  Dauphine was born with a very rare brain malformation called Rhombencephalosynapsis, with which came a bevy of other medical and developmental issues.  In addition to navigating the health and therapy side of caregiving, Billy has had to learn how to navigate the bureaucratic side of family caregiving through his interactions with many healthcare supply companies and representatives at Tenncare.
