Elizabeth (Liz) Boywid earned her BS in criminal justice from Middle Tennessee State University, MA in Criminology from the University of Memphis, and is currently an Adult and Higher Education doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis.  She worked for Loewenberg College of Nursing for 14 years, 2010-2024.  Since 2024, Liz has served as a paid family caregiver to her youngest daughter with Gentle Touch Home Care.  Additionally, she has been the special events director for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Enchanted Forest exhibit since 2021.

Married for 18 years to Billy, they have two lovely daughters, Bambi Rose (13) and Dauphine Violetta (7).  Liz’s background in nursing education significantly supports her ability to care for a medically complex and chronically ill child.  Dauphine was released from the NICU under hospice care and three months later graduated to palliative care.  Liz pursues opportunities to educate, research, and advocate for the disability community as a Family Voices of Tennessee Delegate under the direction of the Association of Maternal and Child Health.
