Theresa Drewry, BSN, RN-BC, CPEN, TCRN
Theresa Drewry BSN, RN PED-BC, CPEN, TCRN has been a practicing RN for over 40 years, working mainly in Pediatrics. For the past 23 years, she has been a Staff/Charge RN in the Emergency Dept at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. She has a deep commitment to providing the best care to patients and families and to educating and mentoring other staff.
Her ongoing commitment to excellence has resulted in recognition both on a local and national level. She has been recognized multiple times with a Power of One by MLH, was awarded the Miracle Award by Methodist in 2021, was the 2007 Le Bonheur Nurse of the Year and a 2014 Nursing Star, was one of the Top 100 Nurses in Shelby County in 2007, was the ENA Nurse Memphis Chapter Nurse of the Year, and most recently was awarded the 2026 Nightingale Nurse Bedside Hero Award . She was chosen as the Face of Pediatric Nursing by the ANCC in 2008 and featured in national publications to promote certification.
She is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN) and has served in leadership roles in both organizations.
She maintains 3 national certifications and was one of the first 200 nurses in the nation to obtain the CPEN Credential. In 2010, she was chosen by ENA to be one of the Section Editors of the first CPEN Review Manual writing and editing over 300 questions covering Triage, Trauma, Sedations, and Surgery.
She was a PALS Instructor for many years and continues to function as a Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) Instructor.
Ultimately, she hopes to inspire, mentor, and prepare new nurses to practice with the same passion that she has always exhibited throughout her nursing career.
