Lura Luther has been a nurse for 40 years. 35 years as a Pediatric Nurse. She worked in the inpatient hospital setting for 28 years before transferring to the  last role as Spina Bifida Clinic RN Lead where she was responsible for the coordination of care for the patients in the Spina Bifida Clinic. She has participated in many Quality Projects at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

In 2019 she collaborated with the National Spina Bifida Association to Coorindate a Spina Bifida Patient Education Day, and also in 2019 served as a steering committee member for the planning of the first National Spina Bifida Association Clinical Care Meeting.
