Danielle Tate, MD
Dr. Danielle Tate graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 2002. She attended Howard University College of Medicine for her medical school training, and received her medical degree there. Moving to Memphis for her residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, she served as administrative chief resident in her final year. Following completion of residency, she stayed in Memphis and completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Dr. Tate went on to complete a clinical fellowship in HIV medicine.
Dr. Tate is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She serves in many capacities including Program Director of the OBGYN Residency, Director of the Obstetric Infectious Disease Division, Director of High Risk Outpatient Services, and Director of OB Simulation Training. She also serves as a part of many community organizations and is a part of the physician leadership of the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC). Her areas of expertise in pregnancy include HIV, Diabetes, quality improvement, and hypertensive disorders. She dedicates a good portion of her time to research and has published and presented many research projects in the area of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is passionate about teaching and enjoys training the next generation of physicians through resident and medical student education.
Dr. Tate is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, as well as a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American Medical Association, Memphis OBGYN Society, Bluff City Medical Society, Tennessee Medical Association, ISUOG, and AIUM.
