Claudette Jones Shephard, Medical Doctor

Dr. Claudette Shephard Bio Dr. Claudette Shephard is an Associate Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she serves as the inaugural Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion for the College of Medicine. She is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Her fellowship training in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology was obtained at UTHSC. Dr. Shephard is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has a Focused-Designation in Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology. Her medical practice is with UT Regional One Physicians. She is an Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been awarded “Best Doctors in America” on multiple occasions as well as “Physician of the Year” for the Bluff City Medical Society. Her community involvement includes volunteering with the American Cancer Society and serving as an ambassador for several initiatives. She is the founder of the Oasis Foundation, a community-based wellness ministry with a mission to improve community health through education and disease prevention programs. Dr. Shephard serves on the board of the A Step Ahead Foundation and Shelby County Health Care Corporation and is a medical advisor for the Shelby County Crime Victim and Rape Crisis Center. As such, she is in demand as a consultant, speaker, and facilitator for various workshops and lecture forums. She is married to Mr. Doderidge Shephard and is mother to Jonathan Shephard, a graduate of Southern Adventist University.
