Eric Christensen
Eric Christensen obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and International Business from The University of Memphis in 1996. He then obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2000. In 2000 he joined the Shelby County District Attorney General’s office as an Assistant District Attorney until 2003 when he began a solo practice as a criminal defense attorney In Memphis Tennessee.
In 2009 he rejoined the District Attorney General’s Office where he worked in the Organized Crime, Gang and Special Victim Units units before becoming a Division Leader in the Shelby County Criminal Courts. He has spent the last 7 years as the Chief Prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit which handles child sex and physical abuse cases as well as child homicides, adult sex abuse, trafficking and elder abuse cases.
Mr. Christensen has tried over 100 cases in the Shelby County Criminal Courts as well as cases in Jackson and Savannah Tennessee as a special Prosecutor. He specializes in trying Child Abuse and Neglect Homicide cases, and is an advisor to the Memphis Police Department and Shelby County Sheriff’s Department on child homicide cases. He is a member of the Child Protection Investigation and Vulnerable Adult Investigation teams in Shelby County and serves as an advisor for the Child Advocacy Center and the Adult Sex Crimes Bureau of the Memphis Police Department.
