Introduction to Virtual Care for Health Care Providers and Students

These modules are designed to provide an introductory overview of virtual care or telehealth care for health care professionals. It is not intended to be a comprehensive course or for any one specific health care provider although many of the use cases will depict nurses or nurse practitioners as the provider. 

All modules must be completed to receive a certificate with nursing credit.

Target Audience

This course is for health care providers and student health care providers.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define basic telehealth terms and state benefits of telehealth and potential applications.
  2. Describe effective communication techniques and etiquette for telehealth encounters.
  3. Identify ways to perform effective telehealth visits.
  4. Understand professional, legal, and ethical considerations with telehealth visits.
