Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare Simulation Workshop

This two-day, in-person workshop provides a comprehensive, hands-on exploration of evidence-based healthcare simulation with a focused integration of artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Participants will review current simulation standards, ethical principles, and professional resources; examine theoretical frameworks that guide simulation practice; and apply best practices through guided scenario development. The workshop emphasizes practical application, including incorporating AI and VR into simulation design, accessing quality resources, engaging with vendors, and developing and presenting at least one AI-enhanced simulation scenario with feedback.

Nursing faculty, healthcare faculty,  and simulationist

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a foundation for evidence-based simulation practice through Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice, Healthcare Simulationists Code of Ethics, Ethical Use of AI, and Healthcare Simulation Dictionary 
  • Identify resources for quality healthcare simulation development and implementation 
  • State theoretical frameworks to guide healthcare simulation practice 
  • Practice the incorporation of best practices and AI into clinical simulation scenario development
