Speaker: W. Richard Cowling, III, RN, PhD, AHN-BC, SGAHN, ANEF, FAAN

W. Richard Cowling, III, currently the John Wymer Distinguished Professor of Caring Science at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Florida Atlantic University, is known as a nursing scholar with a commitment to Rogers’ science of unitary human beings. He created the unitary appreciative nursing praxis model grounded in his work with women in despair. He has collaborated with nurses to promote innovative approaches to holistic and unitary appreciative nursing practice and scholarship throughout the United States and in Europe and Australia. He is certified as an Advanced Holistic Nurse (AHN-BC) and is a Scholar of the Global Academy of Holistic Nursing (SGAHN). Dr. Cowling collaborated in the development of the Nurse Manifest Project (A Nursing Manifesto: A Call to Conscience and Action | NurseManifest which led to the development of the Nursology website (Nursology | Honoring Our Heritage – Building Our Future). He is the editor of the Journal of Holistic Nursing and was named the Holistic Nurse of the Year in 2008 by the American Holistic Nurses Association. Dr. Cowling is a National League for Nursing-Academy of Nursing Education Fellow as well as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, Scholar.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with the DVP program starting at 8:30 a.m.
