Karen Hernan practices nursing "outside the walls" as an Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness manager for one of Macy's Logistics and Operations centers located in Portland, TN.  Karen and her team implement the Safety Program, coordinate first aid response and clinic, manage worker's compensation processes and lead the Employee Resource Group's Health/Wellness initiative.  Karen is involved with Tennessee Action Coalition, ANA/Tennessee Nurses Association, American Red Cross, and League of Women Voters. Activities promoting legislative advocacy, mentoring and nurse wellness are efforts she supports through volunteering.
