Jennifer Valentine, RN, MSN
Jennifer Valentine, RN, MSN, is the Director of Organizational Planning and Development at the Knox County Health Department (KCHD), where she oversees major initiatives such as accreditation, performance management, workforce development, quality improvement, the academic health department, and, strategic planning. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1998, followed by a Master of Nursing Administration from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2007. Jennifer brings over 15 years of experience in public health administration at Knox County Health Department, including serving in other positions such as director and assistant director of nursing, emergency preparedness nurse educator, employee health nurse, and public health nurse. In addition, Jennifer has more than 10 years teaching experience as an adjunct faculty at King University in Knoxville, Tennessee. She’s been an active Tennessee Public Health Association (TPHA) member for 18 years and currently serves on the TPHA Board of Directors. Additionally, Jennifer currently serves as a Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) Site Visitor where she uses her public health experience and expertise to make assessments of other health departments’ conformity with PHAB Standards for public health accreditation. She has been a member of the Tennessee Action Coalition since 2018.
