Preceptor training for the Advanced Practice Nurse
Target Audience
This course is for preceptors for advanced practice nurse students and/or advanced practice nurse new graduates.
Learning Objectives
- Develop a preparation plan with communication strategies to support the precepting process
- Implement ways to associate the new professional role of the APN with the workplace and community during the preceptor process
- Instruct preceptees on the legal policies that govern APN practice
- Integrate and acknowledge nursing values and ethics on the APN level during the preceptor process
- Discuss components of coding and billing in the APN practice with the preceptee
