Preceptor training for the Advanced Practice Nurse

Target Audience

This course is for preceptors for advanced practice nurse students and/or advanced practice nurse new graduates.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a preparation plan with communication strategies to support the precepting process
  • Implement ways to associate the new professional role of the APN with the workplace and community during the preceptor process
  • Instruct preceptees on the legal policies that govern APN practice
  • Integrate and acknowledge nursing values and ethics on the APN level during the preceptor process
  • Discuss components of coding and billing in the APN practice with the preceptee
